Shopian: One-way traffic was on Friday restored on Mughal road that connects Kashmir valley through Shopian in Southern Kashmir to Rajouri and Poonch districts in Jammu division.

The road was closed for vehicular traffic on November 3 following heavy snowfall at many places in the road including Pir ki Gali.

Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Owais Ahmad told Kashmir Reader that the vehicular service has been allowed today from Ponch to Shopian. “After proper monitoring of the condition of the road the traffic movement will be allowed from both sides,”  he said.

Officials of Mechanical Engineering wing of Mughal Road Development Authority told Kashmir Reader that the snow clearance task has been completed in a record time of five days despite the avalanches and shooting stones at many places.
