Srinagar: The Israeli occupational authorities have detained 511 Palestinians during October, including 74 minors and 15 women, three Palestinian prisoners advocacy groups said on Thursday.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), Addameer and the Prisoners’ Commission said in a joint paper that the Israeli forces detained 91 Palestinians from occupied Jerusalem, 61 from Ramallah, 75 from Hebron, 44 from Jenin, 26 from Bethlehem, 45 from Nablus, 100 from Tulkarm, 28 from Qalqilya, 10 from Toubas, 9 from Salfit, 10 from Jericho and 12 from the Gaza Strip, Wafa, a Palestinian News and Info agency reported.
In addition, the Israeli authorities issued 73 administrative detention orders in October, 42 of them new ones, bringing the total number of Palestinians held in administrative detention to 430.
It said around 6000 Palestinians are currently incarcerated in Israeli prisons, including 52 women, one of them a minor, and 270 children under 18 years of age.
The PPS said in a separate statement that the Israeli army detained six Palestinians in overnight raids at their West Bank homes on Thursday, including two brothers, 20 and 23 years old from the town of Allar in Tulkarm in the north of the occupied West Bank.
