Gunfight rages in Tral village of southern Kashmir

Srinagar: A gunfight between government forces and militants ensued in Tral area of southern Kashmir’s Pulwama district Friday morning.

Reports said that the gunfight started after government forces cordoned off Dar-Ganaigund Mohalla of Tral this morning and started a search operation.

They said that as the forces intensified the searches and zeroed in on the house where the militants were hiding; the militants fired at the forces triggering a gunfight.

A police official said that the CASO was launched in the area after inputs about the presence of militants in the area. He said that the army, J&K Police and the paramilitary CRPF personnel are on job.
