Shopian: A shutdown is being observed in this south Kashmir Township to mourn the death of two Hizbul Mujahideen militants killed in a gunfight with government forces on Tuesday.

All shops, offices and business establishments in the town and its peripheries remained closed today to mourn the killing of Hizb militants Idrees Ahmad of Safnagri and Amir Amin of Awneera in a pre-dawn encounter by government forces on Tuesday, witnesses told Kashmir Reader.

However, the movement of transport remained largely unaffected.
