Cold wave grips Kashmir Valley, Gulmarg shivers at minus 6.6

Srinagar: After a fresh spell of snowfall, cold wave has gripped Kashmir Valley as the mercury plunged to a low of minus 2.2 degrees Celsius in this capital city.

A meteorological official told Kashmir Reader today that north Kashmir witnessed intense cold conditions with Gulmarg, one of the world famous ski resorts in valley, recording a low of minus 6.6 degrees Celsius.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded the season’s lowest minimum temperature of minus 2.2 degrees Celsius, while the  temperature at the Pahalgam tourist resort in south Kashmir was recorded minus 5.2 degree Celsius.
