NEW DELHI: India’s tourism ministry on Monday opened a ‘Tourist Facilitation and Information Counter’ at the capital’s IGI Airport. The counter, inaugurated by Minister of State for Tourism, GoI, K J Alphons, will provide 24×7 information to both domestic and international visitors arriving in Delhi.
The facilitation counter is located at the T3 terminal arrival gates of the IGI Airport.
“The counter will also be connected to the 24×7 Helpline – 1363 of ministry of tourism through which the non-English speaking tourists will be able to speak directly with the foreign language agents and get guidance in French, German, Italian, French, Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Chinese and Arabic,” the ministry said in a statement.
The counter will be manned by 2 staff and a supervisor to answer the queries of the tourists and also guide them with information.
“It will be stocked with sufficient high-quality tourist literature and brochures. It is located outside the arrival area in the international side of IGI Airport, New Delhi. The ministry of tourism is opening such facilitation counters in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Gaya and Varanasi,” it added. —PIB
