Reviews expenditure, liability of key schemes
SRINAGAR: Director Agriculture Kashmir, Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi on Monday said the farm land was shrinking with every passing day, “so whatever is left must be optimised in terms of production, productivity and sustainability”, adding it is high time that a ‘different context’ was adopted while dealing with agriculture sector.
He was speaking at a meeting to review the department’s physical and financial progress under state sector and GoI sponsored schemes here at Agriculture Complex, Lalmandi.
Discussions were held on various issues including progress on direct benefit transfer mode (DBT), physical and financial progress under GoI-sponsored schemes, intra-department coordination issues in implementation of schemes, submission of monthly progress report of various programmes, an official handout read.
Taking a serious note of low expenditure in some schemes, Andrabi emphasised upon the officers to book 100% expenditure of the approved allocation by 15th of this month.
Andrabi asked the officers to strictly adhere to the guidelines of every scheme during their implementation and to ensure that unnecessary liabilities were not created, it added.
