SRINAGAR: “Indian security forces have let loose a reign of terror throughout the valley of Kashmir which is increasing day by day,” said Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu Kashmir on Monday.

In a statement, Jama’at said, “Every day on one pretext or other, the innocent Kashmiri youth are killed in cold blood in order to intimidate and harass the people in general so as to compel them to surrender their most precious human and fundamental right – the right to self-determination.”

“The way the innocent youth are targeted and deprived of their lives or personal freedom by these merciless forces, clearly depict the forces’ hatred and enmity against the Kashmiris. This behaviour is quite inhuman, brutal and barbaric which disregards every legal safeguard available to a human being under the civilised legal system,” it said.

What the law says about the human life, dignity and property is quite ignored by these “unruly” forces with the full support and sanction of their bosses sitting in New Delhi whose only aim seems to be the suppression of the people here, Jama’at-e-Islami said.

It strongly condemned the “barbaric” killing of a youth Shahid Mansoor Mir of Khudpora Gagran, and has appealed the international bodies to take serious note of the “human rights violations” going on unabated in the valley.

Jama’at also paid tributes to the slain youth Irfan Ahmad Bhat of Bandzoo Pulwama and Naseer Ahmad Teli of Gulabad, Arampora Sopore.
