ML denounces assassination of JUI-S chief

Srinagar: The Muslim League on Saturday condemned the assassination of JUI-S chief Maulana Sami ul Haq by unknown persons at his residence in the northern city of Rawalpindi.
Sami-ul-Haq, 80, was stabbed to death in his bed on Friday, according to media reports.
“Maulana Sami ul Haq was a towering Islamic scholar whose main aim and objective was the stability of Pakistan and unity in Muslim Ummah,” the spokesman of party, Sajad Ayoubi said in a statement.
He said that “he was the strong supporter of Kashmir cause. He supported the legitimate demand of people of Kashmir and played his role at all levels for the implementation of UN resolutions for the settlement of Kashmir dispute.”
Ayoubi said that “we have been deprived of an important religious leader whose services would always be remembered.”
