Sopore shuts down to mourn TeM militant’s killing

Sopore: A Complete shutdown is being observed in this north Kashmir Township to mourn the death of a local militant in Sagipora shootout on Thursday night.

All the shops and other business establishments are closed in the town, while thin movement of private transport is being witnessed on the roads in the town.

Naseer Ahmed Teli of Arampora Sopore was killed in a brief shootout with government forces in Sagipora area of Handwara on Thursday night. He had joined Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen militant outfit a month earlier.

Meanwhile authorities have ordered that all educational institutions across Sopore town to remain closed on Saturday as a precautionary measure, accept those schools where board examinations are scheduled today.
