Sericulture employees call suspension order arbitrarily

Srinagar: Scores of employees of Sericulture department who were suspended yesterday for unauthorized absence from duties protested on Friday against the order.
Suspended fourteen employees along with the other sericulture employees and workers union assembled here in press enclave and chanted Slogans “we want Justice”, “Revoke our suspension”.
Union President, Gowhar Habib said that Director sericulture department Gulzar Ahmad Shabnum visited the district sericulture office Srinagar and suspended 15 officials including district sericulture officer Srinagar Dr Inayat Saleem Fazili under order no: 01 DS/JK/2018 for being unauthorized absent from the duty.
“But we were present on duty during his visit in the office. We have proper bio-metric attendance of the day,” Habib Said.
“If the bio-metric attendance is not accepted by the department. Why they have installed it in the office then,” Habib asked. “the attendance sheet shows the proof that we were present in the office on that day”.
The protesters requested the Divisional Commissioner Baseer Ahmad Khan to look into the matter and revoke their suspension order immediately.
