Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Friday held a protest in Srinagar against the civilian killing and arrest spree across Kashmir.
According to the statement, the leaders and activists of JKLF on the call from Joint Resistance Leadership, organised a peaceful protest here in wake of killing spree, search operations, arresting pro-freedom leaders and excesses by forces.
The statement said that JKLF leaders and activists including Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Muhammad Yasin Butt, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Professor Javed, Ashraf bin Salam, Ghulam Muhammad Dar and others denounced the rights violations during the protest.
The JKLF chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, it reads, said that “using NIA to intimidate, punish and bully resistance leaders is condemnable.”
“New Delhi is using iron fist policy to suppress the genuine aspirations and resistance of the people of Kashmir,” Malik said. “But they should know that oppressive measures can never succeed in deterring the people’s movement.”
