Family of missing student Ethisham protest, seek his whereabouts

SRINAGAR: The family members and relatives of the missing Sharda University student on Wednesday held a demonstration here in Srinagar seeking his whereabouts.
The family members and relatives of Ehtisham, a B.I.M.T student at Noida’s Sharda University assembled here in Press enclave and staged a demonstration seeking his whereabouts, who went missing from New Delhi on Sunday. The protesting family members of the youth urged intervention of government to trace their missing son.
Ehtisham’s father Bilal Ahmad Sofi said on 28 October 2018, he went for an outing to New Delhi. He spoke with his mother over the phone. He told us that he will send him all the photos which he had clicked during the outing at many places.
“During the evening time, his photo got switched off from the Rohini railway station and he went missing. His last phone call was traced from the same station,” Sofi said,
Ehtisham’s aunt, Shabnum Begum said that the family has registered an FIR at the Greater Noida police station as well as a missing report in the police station Khanayar.
“Ehtisham had also called his cousin brother over phone, who is studying in the Sharda University and told him that he will reach the hostel by 8:30 pm before he went missing,” she said.
She also said that “among the four siblings, Ehtisham Bilal is the only male member in his family,”
“On 4th October he was beaten by the local students in the university campus. After that he was shifted to the hospital,” said one of the relatives of Ehtisham Bilal.
The family members and relatives of Ehtisham urged former chief ministers Omer Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti and the government of India to help in locating their missing son.
