India, Pakistan trade gunfire at Tangdar

Kupwara: The armies of India and Pakistan exchanged heavy gunfire across the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday in Tangdar sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Official sources said that at about 5am, Pakistani forces targeted several Indian Army posts near Jal post in Tangdar sector. They said that the Indian Army in the area retaliated to the firing.
Gunfire was again exchanged for about two hours in the afternoon, police said. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kupwara AS Dinkar told Kashmir Reader that the exchange of fire in the morning continued for about 15 minutes, and there was no report of any injury. He said that both the armies again exchanged fire from small and heavy guns in the same sector, starting at about 3pm and the exchange continuing till 5pm.
However, sources said that there was no firing in the area after morning. They said that people living in the area were asked not to go near the LoC.
In September, the two armies had targeted posts of each other with gunfire.
