Gunfight breaks out in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district

Srinagar: Gunfight broke out between government forces and militants in Budgam district in the wee hours of Thursday.

Sources said that government forces after inputs about presence of militants in Zagoo village of the district, launched a cordon and search operation.

“As the joint teams of army and paramilitary were conducting searches, the militants fired at them from a house triggering a fierce gunfight.”

A local news gathering agency quoting sources reported that two militants are trapped inside a residential house.
