KUPWARA: DDC Kupwara Khalid Jahangir Tuesday administered oath to the recently elected ward members of Municipal Committee Kupwara at Town Hall Kupwara.
SSP Kupwara, ADDC Kupwara ACR, Executive officer MC Kupwara, officers of District Administration, elected members, President Beopar Mandal, Media Persons and other people participated in the ceremony.
The oath was administered to the members of 13 wards of MC Kupwara. The members took a pledge that they will perform their duties with honesty, dedication and integrity.
The speakers on the occasion congratulated the elected members and expressed optimism that they will discharge their responsibilities with honesty and live up to the expectations of the people to strengthen grassroot democratic institutions.
Later, one member Riyaz Ahmad Mir of ward number 11 was elected as President MC Kupwara.
In another function held at Environmental Hall Handwara DDC Kupwara administered oath to the 13 members of MC Handwara and ADC Handwara Gulzar Ahmad administered oath to the members of 11 wards of MC Langate.
The newly elected Municipal Committee members of Kulgam, Devsar, Yaripora Municipal Committees of Kulgam took oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony at Rest house Kulgam.
The oath was administered by Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC), Kulgam Khawaja Nazir Ahmad to all the elected members.
While congratulating to the elected members, the ADDC urged upon them to meet the expectations of people and take development scenario to new heights in all towns of Kulgam District and work in tandem for betterment of people.
Executive Officers of all Municipal Committees of Kulgam and district and sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
Meanhwile Assistant Commissioner Revenue (ACR) Pulwama Qazi Masood administered oath to the 11 newly -elected members of Municipal Committees of Pulwama, Pampore, Tral and Awantipora here.
On the occasion, ACR congratulated the elected councillors and urged them to work towards strengthening democratic institutions. He reiterated that the newly elected members should prioritize the developmental initiatives as per local wards.
