India, Pak armies’ trade gunfire in north Kashmir’s Tangdar sector

Baramulla: India and Pakistan armies on Tuesday night exchanged heavy gunfire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Tangdar sector of the frontier Kupwara district.

Official sources told Kashmir Reader today that the Pakistani troops opened fire upon army’s Jal post along the LoC in Tangdar sector on Tuesday evening. The Indian army, they said retaliated to the unprovoked ceasefire violation by the Pakistani side that began at 5:00 pm on Tuesday and lasted for nearly four hours.

SSP Kupwara, A S Dinker told Kashmir Reader that Pakistani army violated ceasefire twice in Tangdar sector since Tuesday evening.

“On Tuesday, Pakistani army attacked our army post with small and heavy arms for four hours. And today morning around 5:00 am, our post was attacked again,” Dinker said.

He said there were no reports of injury in the exchange of gunfire on this side.
