18-days EDP concludes at JKEDI
LEH: DDC, Leh Avny Lavasa on Tuesday appreciated young students/trainees for opting entrepreneur ventures instead of government jobs. She said “each individual entrepreneur contributes to the economic growth of a district, state and country”.
She was speaking at the valedictory function at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Institute (JKEDI), Regional Office, Leh. The function was held to at the conclusion of 18-days Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) under HIMAYAT/NMDFC, an official handout read.
Avny Lavasa said that Leh district had huge business potential that has remained unexplored. She said that youth could be the change agents and with good business acumen they could capitalise these business potentials in Leh.
Lavasa asserted that JKEDI is a means to support the young entrepreneurs through training and bank loan schemes.
Dorjey Namgial of KVK Leh also spoke on the occasion about the work and support that KVK can provide the young entrepreneurs in agro and horticulture-based business ventures. He urged the local youth to “explore enormous possibilities in agriculture and horticulture-related businesses, the handout read.
