Massive protests break out in south Kashmir’s Tral

Pulwama: Clashes broke out this afternoon in Mandoora area of Tral here after government forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) to nab militants following an attack on Monday.

Witnesses told Kashmir Reader that scores of people took to streets and staged a protest when special operations group (SOG) of police and army laid a siege around Chankitar village of Mandoora, Tral this afternoon and launched a CASO following a militant attack on Monday night.

Angry protesters, witnesses said hurled stones at the government forces

“The government forced fired warning shots after they failed to disperse protesters with tear gas shells and pellets. One civilian has been injured during the clashes so far,” witnesses said.
