JAMMU: Acting upon the directions of High Court, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma Saturday chaired a meeting for initiating necessary steps for the development of the cattle pound.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, Commissioner JMC, Arvind Kotwal, Revenue Attorney, Atul Gupta, DFO Jammu, Sat Paul, Municipal Veterinary Officer, JMC, Zafar Iqbal and other senior functionaries of the concerned departments.
The meeting was informed that a land measuring 42 kanals has been sanctioned for the development of Cattle Pond at Village Seri Khurd, Tehsil Nagrota.
Veram asked the JMC to initiate necessary steps for the development of the cattle pound at the earliest and further directed for the fencing of the said land.
Commissioner, JMC informed the meeting that a plan for development of cattle ponds has been prepared and the work would be started within days.
Verma instructed the DC Jammu to identify state land for fodder development.
