Holds protest in Jammu

JAMMU: The Congress leader Pranav Shagotra Saturday alleged that CBI Director Alok Verma was “illegally” removed to stall investigation in the Rafale fighter jet deal.
Shagotra stated this while addressing the party activists here during a protest against the removal of CBI director. The demonstration was organized by Youth Congress.
“CBI episode has exposed Modi Government’s slogan of curtailing corruption,” he said, according to the statement. “Modi led government is looting public exchequer.”
He also took strong exception to the manner in which the Government has interfered in the independence of the premier investigation agency CBI and removed its director post-midnight.
Urging workers to launch a mass movement to expose corruption of Modi Government, Shagotra said that NDA government was serving interests of only big businessmen by sacrifices interests of the weaker sections of the society.
He said that institutions established with a view to have an independent and autonomous functioning for smooth working of democracy, are being bulldozed.
