Adopt ‘improved horticulture practices, technology’ to increase income: CEC LAHDC Kargil advises farmers

Inaugurates farmers training camp at Gargardoo

KARGIL: Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC), Kargil, Feroz Khan on Saturday advised farmers to adopt the ‘improved horticulture practices and technological interventions’ which will help in increasing their income asking them to avail benefits of all GoI-sponsored schemes like ATMA.
The CEC was speaking after inaugurating a daylong farmers training camp at village Gargardoo in Batalik area. The camp was organised by the Department of Horticulture, Kargil in which hundreds of farmers participated, an official handout read.
Khan asked the concerned to hold similar camps in other parts of the district, especially in far-flung areas.
During the camp, technical officers of the horticulture department sansitised farmers about the latest techniques and technical know-how about the horticulture advances, the handout read.
Chief Horticulture Officer, Kargil and other concerned officers were also present in the camp.
