SRINAGAR: The team of National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers from Islamia College of Science and Commerce, Srinagar participated in an adventure camp at McLeodgang, Daramashala, Himachal Pradesh.
According to a statement issued here, the ten-day adventure camp was organized by Regional Mountaineering Centre (RMC) in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.
Besides NSS volunteers from Islamia College, volunteers from other states like Rajasthan, and MP also participated in the camp, it said.
“The activities carried at the camp included rock climbing, rappelling, river crossing and trekking. The volunteers scaled the height of 10,500 feet and reached Kareri lake, Ghera,” ithe statement said.
The NSS volunteers were made aware about the importance of remaining fit and keeping the Himalayas clean, it added.
