Srinagar: The Hurriyat Conference (M) led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Thursday paid tributes to the slain militants killed in separate encounters with the forces in north and south Kashmir.
Two militants were killed in gunfight with the forces in Arwani area of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Thursday evening, while in Kreeri area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district – two more militants were killed on the same day.
“Every day’s dance of death has exposed New Delhi’s real face in Kashmir under its operation all-out policy,” the spokesperson said in a statement. “The youth of Kashmir have been pushed to the wall and left them with no choice other than to choose armed means of resistance.”
The Hurriyat said that priceless sacrifices are being offered by the youth of Kashmir on all fronts, “the GoI leaves no stone unturned to crush the voices to dissent by killing and thrashing the youth under the garb of CASO”.
“…and instead of accepting the ground realities in Kashmir, New Delhi is dealing with the situation through its military might to instil fear among the people and to force them into submission,” the statement said.
The spokesperson said that of late, “the situation has taken an ugly turn given the unabated increase in the killings, thrashing of youth and anti-people activities which is a great cause of concern”.
The amalgam said that peace won’t prevail in the region unless the Kashmir dispute is settled as per the wishes and aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
However, the spokesperson denounced the continuous house detention of its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his residence. “The continuous house confinement of Mirwaiz can’t break the resolve of resistance leadership and instead it would further strengthen their resolve to fight against oppression,” he said.
