3-day international conference begins at KU

SRINAGAR: A three-day international conference on ‘Worldwide Research Initiatives for Agriculture, Science & Technology’ was on Thursday inaugurated at Gandhi Bhawan of Kashmir University here.
According to a statement issued here, the conference is being organized by National Agriculture Cooperative Limited in collaboration with Kashmir University, SKUAST-K, Department of Sheep Husbandry, Animal Husbandry and Agriculture Department.
Around 200 scientists and equal number of research scholars are attending the conference and will deliberate on various issues in agriculture and allied sectors during the three-day conference.
The organizing secretary, Prof F A Matto said the conference has been organized to provide a common platform for young, emerging and senior scientists to discuss various challenges and opportunities in agricultural sector.
“We have received more than expected number of delegates of different backgrounds and we hope the conference will go a long way in achieving the desired goals,” he said.
Course Director, Dr R A Shah, while welcoming the delegates said that he is hopeful of getting sound recommendations to redress issues confronting agriculture and animal husbandry.
Besides participants, organizers Adil Ahmad, Dr Bilal Ahmad Wani, Showkat Ali, Dr P.A Reshi, Mohd Irfan, Ishfaq Ahmad, Tanveer Ahmad, Peerzada Kaiser and others were present on the occasion.
