KISHTWAR: District Development Commissioner, Angrez Singh Rana Tuesday visited Kuntwara area to inspect the pace of progress on Chattar Bridge being constructed over river Chenab under PMGSY Scheme.
The 67 mtr long and 4.25 mtr wide bridge with project cost of Rs 1.80 crore is part of the Chatter Kuntwara road. On its completion the bridge will provide connectivity to around ten thousand population of far off villages of Kuntwara area.
The work on the Chattar Bridge was pending since 2006-07 due to some bottlenecks which were resolved by the personal intervention of the DDC around 10 months back. During last 10 months 80% of the work of the bridge has been completed.
Accompanied by senior officers and engineers, Rana also inspected the progress on 15 KM Chatter to Kuntwara road. The Xen PMGSY informed that the earth cutting work on 5 Kms stretch has been completed and further work is on.
Rana directed XEN PMGSY to complete the remaining work of the bridge by 15th November 2018 and the earth cutting before May next year.
