Budgam: The students of this central Kashmir district on Wednesday urged authorities to restore mobile internet service saying that the blockade was affecting their studies ahead of the board and university examinations
The clampdown on internet is affecting our studies. In absence of internet, we can’t prepare well to sit in the examinations,” Imtiyaz Nabi, a student from Poshker village told Kashmir Reader.
Another student Iqrar Rashid, who is appearing in 12th class examinations, said that the internet was a major source of information for the students preparing to appear in the examinations. The internet blockade, he said has hit hard the studies of the students.
“When roads are shut and schools closed, internet is the only option to prepare ourselves for the exams. What can we do if internet service too is cut-off,” he said.
The students requested Deputy Commissioner Budgam to ensure quick restoration of mobile internet in the district.
Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Syed Sehrish Asgar told Kashmir Reader that internet was suspended because of the encounter at Nowgam.
“2G has been restored as of now and within one hour we will try to restore the high speed internet as well,” she said.
