Multilingual Mushiara at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: District Police, in collaboration with Department of Information and Public Relations, Tuesday organized a multilingual mushaira here at Sher-e Kashmir Police Academy.
District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar was the chief guest while Commandant CRPF, Harwinder was the guest of honour on the occasion.
Around 25 renowned and budding poets from across the district recited poems highlighting sacrifices of armed personnel made for the nation. They presented their unpublished, and latest poetry and mesmerized the audience.
Mushiara started with lighting of the traditional lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana presented by female trainees of police Academy.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest appreciated coordinated efforts made by Police and Information Department for organizing the Mushiara. He said that such events should be made regular feature so that people in general and literary personalities of the district get a platform to showcase their talent.
Hailing the services being rendered by the police department, the DDC paid rich homage to slain police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty. He said that people and the country will never forget the supreme sacrifices made by police martyrs for protection of lives and properties of citizens.
SSP, Rayees Mohammed Bhat thanked all the invitees for their participation and also distributed appreciation certificate among the participants.
