SRINAGAR: Traffic will not be allowed between Regal Chowk and Amira Kadal bridge on Tuesday in view of the sit-in protest called by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL). As per a police advisory, commuters are requested to use alternate routes to reach their destinations. “Any inconvenience caused is highly regretted,” reads the advisory.
The sit-in protest has been called against the killing of seven civilians in Laroo village of Kulgam in a blast caused by explosives left at the site of an encounter in which government forces killed three local militants. JRL leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq from his Twitter handle urged people to hold a sit-in protest on Tuesday at Lal Chowk in Srinagar.
