Jammu: The training of ROs, AROs and other polling staff for the upcoming Panchayat Elections in Poonch, Doda and Udhampur was held on Sunday.
In Poonch, under the supervision of District Election Officer, Rahul Yadav, the training was imparted to around 370 participants in two sessions by District Level Master Trainers, ALC, Zamood Ahmed, FM DIC Poonch, Waheed Ahmed and AD Handlooms Mohd Arshad Noomani.
The participants were briefed about nomination process, allotment of symbols, withdrawal and scrutiny process besides other aspects and processes involved in the process of smooth conduct of Panchayat Polls.
The DEO asked the participants to remain impartial not only in their conduct but also in appearance.
He further asked them to remain cautious and careful while performing their duties to ensure free and fair elections.
Hands on training regarding use and sealing of Ballot Box was also imparted to the participants during the training sessions.
The training was attended by Nodal Officer, Vijay Puri besides other concerned officers.
In Doda, the training session for Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers was held here at Conference hall,DC office complex, Doda.
In an introductory session, District Election Officer, Anshul Garg asked all the participants to put in a committed effort while performing their respective duties to ensure maximum electoral participation. He advised them to maintain close coordination with concerned BDOs and Election cell established at DC office for any queries.
The training was imparted by Master Trainers, SDM,Bhalessa, Dilmir Choudhary and SDM, Assar, Varunjeet Charak.
A total of 117 ROs and AROs were acquainted with the operation of ballot boxes and allied election materials for the smooth conduct of free and fair elections.
Under the supervision of DEO, the training was moderated by Nodal Officer, Fayaz Ahmed Mehta.
The participants were also provided the hand books of Panchayat Raj Act for ready reference.
The first and the second phase of the Panchahat Elections in the district for Bhalessa, Changa, Jhakyas, Chilly Pingal, Bhagwah, and Kashtigarh scheduled to be commencing from October 23 and October 26.
In Udhampur, under the supervision of District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO), Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar, a training programme for ROs and AROs was organized by District Election Authority here at Conference Hall, DC Office Complex.
A total of 63 ROs and 236 AROs were trained by the Master Trainers for carrying out smooth conduct of upcoming Panchayat Elections in the District.
During the training session, District level Master Trainer,Abdul Sattar gave a power point presentation regarding hands on training of election related materials.
While interacted with the participants, the DPEO asked them to work in close coordination so that the Panchayat Elections in the District would be conducted successfully in a free, fair and transparent manner. He further advised them to go thoroughly through the instructions as provided in the hand book of ROs.
Deputy District Election Officer, Udhampur, Sapna Kotwal besides other officers/officials of concerned departments also attended the training programme.
