Militants managed to flee

SRINAGAR: Two army men were injured in an encounter that broke out between militants and government forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday evening, police said.
The brief gunfight took place in Pathan village of Pulwama after forces launched a cordon and search operation (CASO) after receiving credible inputs about the presence of militants in the area, a police official said.
He said the militants fired upon the search party, triggering a gunfight in which two army men received injuries. They were hospitalised.
The militants however managed to escape from the spot taking advantage of the clashes that erupted in the area.
