Srinagar: Vice Chancellor, Kashmir University, Prof Talat Ahmad has felicitated and congratulated the innovators of NIF cell and EDV for bagging the highest number of awards at state award function of JK Start up Yatra function held at JKEDI Pampore on Friday.
According to a statement issued here, VC while congratulating the awardees hoped that the new innovations presented by our innovators shall lead to establishment of star-up companies in Kashmir which will go a long way to generate employment opportunities for the youth and serve as inspiration for others to follow. He expressed his satisfaction for the working of EDC and NIF Cell, in the varsity.
“The JK start up India Yatra was started on September 27, 2018. It is a central government initiative executed by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion. Under this initiative, 10 boot camps were organised by team India in different districts of Jammu & Kashmir,” the statement said.
During the Yatra, it said, 182 innovative ideas were pitched in various Boot Camps, out of which 75 ideas have already been shortlisted out of which 26 ideas were scouted and submitted at Kashmir university during a workshop organized by ECD/NIF.
The ideas, innovations were shortlisted for finale held at JKEDI Pampore on Friday and 21 participants were awarded.
“Most of the award winners included those scouted and supported by EDC and NIF Cell, Kashmir University. These included Waseem Nadaf (Rs 1 Lakh), Mushtaq Ahmad Dar (Rs 40K), Dr Tasleema (Rs 30K), Zubair Ahmad (Rs 30K), Naseer Ahmad (Rs 20K), Irshad Ahmad (Rs 20K), Buchoo (Rs 30K), Bisco (Rs 30K), Rafiq Ahmad (Rs 40K),” the statement said.
Chairman NIF cell, Prof G.M Bhat expressed his happiness over the selection and awards received by the innovators. “There is a great need to promote and support innovations and innovators to resolve our unmet social problems. I appreciate all innovators registered with NIF cell and EDC for their awards at grand finale of JK start up Yatra,” he said.
