Low speed internet service restored in Kashmir’s capital city

Srinagar: Low speed 2G mobile internet service has been restored in this capital city, a day after being suspended due to a gunfight in this capital city which left two militants, civilian and a cop dead.

2G internet services by all mobile service providers, including the state-run BSNL was restored this afternoon, officials told Kashmir Reader.

Internet service was suspended in this capital city on Wednesday morning when a fierce encounter broke out in Fateh Kadal area of the city. Two Lashkar-e-Toiba militants Mehraj-ud-Din Bangroo and his associate Fahad Mushtaq Waza were killed in the encounter. A civilian Rayees Ahmad of Fateh Kadal and a cop were also slain in the gun-battle that set off massive pro-freedom protests in most parts of the city.
