Electoral roll preparedness meeting held at Anantnag

SRINAGAR: Commissioner Secretary Revenue and Roll Observer Anantnag, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian Shahid Anayatullah on Wednesday chaired a meeting of District Administration Anantnag, Sectoral Officers and all Tehsildars of Anantnag district to review the preparedness of draft electoral rolls as January 1, 2019.
The District Election Officer Anantnag Mohammad Younis Malik informed the Observer about the details of draft voter lists and epic/photo coverage completed so far.
He informed the meeting that according to the census 2011, the total population of the district has been recorded as 10,78,692 which includes 5,18,915 female population. The total voters of the district are 5,15,185 which include 2,64,800 male and 2,50,385 female voters and the projected total voters upto 01.01.2019 has been targeted at 11,57,773 and the EP ratio has touched to 44.05%. Between the age group of 18-19 years a total of 956 draft voters have been included which include 4875 male and 4680 female and 01 voters from others.
The EPIC/photo coverage has been recorded as 85.18% of the total electorate. In the age group of 18 years, 1379 new voters have been included in the district. Under Form-6, 77 applications have been received, under Form-7, 66 applications and under Form-8, 19 applications have been received from the migrant voters of Jammu/Udhampur migrant camps.
The Roll Observer on the occasion directed the concerned officers to ensure cent percent EPIC photo coverage, additions/deletions and modifications be completed upto 01.01.2019.
