SRINAGAR: The employees of the Jammu and Kashmir forest corporation staged a protest demonstration here on Monday demanding release of their wages and regularization.
The employees under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Forest Corporation Employees Union (JKFCEU) assembled at Pratap Park here and staged anti-government demonstration.
The protesters later marched towards press enclave here and held banners and placards which read, “Protect SFA land at Sheltang”, “Implement 7th pay Commission”, “We want justice”.
Chanting slogans, the protesters were demanding regularisation of daily rated workers, protection of state forest corporation, release pending daily allowance and implementation of seventh pay commission.
Union President, Bashir Ahmad Bhat said that the employees were being deprived of their legitimate rights by the state government by non-implementation of seventh pay commission.
“Even 26 percent of employee’s daily alliance (DA) is being held without any reason or rhyme, 26 percent of the DA held is from our sixth pay commission,” he said.
The protesting employees also alleged state government of handover the SFC land at Sheltnag to state industrial department. They said that the over 80 kanals of land generates over Rs 40 crore of revenue yearly. Then why this is being given away to other departments, they ask.
They employees said that over three thousand employees of the forest department are being fooled by the state government.
“Neither our DA is released nor is seventh pay commission implemented,” they said.
