Bandipora: Families of four youth booked under Public Safety Act in Bandipora came out to protest their detention and contested the police claims.
The families hailing from Nusu and Kaloosa areas of Bandipora staged a sit-in protest at mini-secretariat claiming that their kin were “falsely framed” by the police.
The families were accompanied by their relatives, including women.
“All the charges are false and baseless. The government should look into the matter and revoke the charges framed against them,” Fahmeeda, relative of one of the the PSA detainee said.
The families said that the police have booked the youth at Aragam police station under different charges even though they do not live in its jurisdiction.
“They were picked up from the Sports Stadium at Bandipora days ago despite the fact that they were in no way involved in any stone pelting incident at Aragam village,” one of the protestor said.
Few days ago, the District Magistrate Bandipora booked five youth from Nusu, Kaloosa and Hajin with PSA and sent them to Kotbalwal jail in Jammu.
