SRINAGAR: Vice Chancellor University of Kashmir, Prof Talat Ahmad, called on Governor Satya Pal Malik, Chancellor of the University, at the Raj Bhawan here on Monday.
During the meeting, Prof Talat apprised the Governor about the academic activities and other matters pertaining to the university, an official statement issued here said.
Governor advised the Vice Chancellor to take immediate steps to restore the academic calendar and ensure timely completion of exams and award of degrees so that the precious time of students does not get wasted.
Governor was also apprised by the Vice Chancellor of various meetings being held in connection with the climate change under the Ministry of Earth Sciences and advisory committee meeting regarding Ramalingam Fellowship Summit under the aegis of Department of Science and Technology (DST) scheduled to be held next month.
Prof Talat informed Governor about various measures taken to restore and streamline the academic calendar of the university.
Meanwhile, the statement said a meeting under the chairmanship of Controller Examinations with various degree college principals of the valley and coordinators of nodal evaluation centres was held on Monday to discuss various issues relating to undergraduate examination including pending evaluation of different semesters of 2016, 2017 and 2018 batches.
The principals assured that all the pending evaluation will be completed within few days and then result will be declared in the shortest possible time.
They also assured full support and cooperation in helping the university to streamline the process of examinations including timely completion of evaluation and declaration of results.
