Srinagar: Hundreds of Kashmiri students are holding a demonstration at the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) to demand scrapping of sedition charges against their fellow students.

Hundreds of Kashmiri students from different departments this morning assembled outside Kennedy Auditorium and staged a protest against slapping of sedition charges against three fellow students, reports said.

The students carrying placards that read “ Free speech is our right,” “Revoke sedition and suspension,” “Kashmiri lives matter,” Don’t play with our career,” were demanding immediate revocation of sedition charges slapped on the three Kashmiri students.

The peaceful protest was going on when the last reports came in.
