Employees assembled here in front of Civil Secretariat and marched towards press enclave while chanting slogans and holding banners which read, “We want justice”, “We demand promotion”.
The protesting employees said that they are working in the health department for last 27 Years and were recruited through State Service Selection Recruitment Board (SSRB). “Since then we haven’t been promoted.” They said that they are being fooled by the administration.
Association President, Showket Ahmad said, “We appeal the state government to promote us and upgrade our pay scale as per 1992 recruitment rules. We multipurpose employees are on pen down strike for the same cause”.
The protesting employees said that despite being the government employees they are not privileged with benefit of recruitment law, under which they are supposed to get promoted as per the seniority and qualification basis.
They said that if their demands are met at the earliest they are bound to go for indefinite strike. Since their pen down strike is reaching no-where.
The employees appeal the governor administration to intervene in the matter and put an end to their suffering by implementing 1992 recruitment law.
