SRINAGAR: Director Tourism Kashmir, Tasaduq Jeelani highlighted the potential of J&K tourism at travel and tourism shows in Moscow, which was organised by Ministry of Tourism, GoI.
Thousands of the travel agents from different parts of the world, including India, participated in the tourism shows held at Moscow on Monday and another travel show on Tuesday at St Petersburg.
Besides other officials from the Ministry of Tourism, GoI, Ambassador of India to Moscow, D B Venkatesh Verma, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM), Embassy of India in Moscow, G Balasubramaniam, also participated in the travel show, an official handout read.
In addition to showcasing India’s diverse tourism potential, they also informed the gathering about J&K’s breathtaking landscape and urged them to visit the state for holidaying.
Tasaduq Jeelani screened short films highlighting the tourism potential of all the three regions of the state.
He also highlighted JK’s diverse culture, art, craft and breathtaking beauty through a PowerPoint presentation to attract the tourists to Kashmir.
During the B2B networking, Director Tourism Kashmir personally met the leading travel agents from Moscow and urged them to promote J&K’s tourism potential, the handout read.
Speaking over phone from St Petersburg, Tasaduq Jeelani said the travel agents who had earlier sent their clients to JK praised the beauty of the state.
“I personally talked to the heads of the travel trade from Moscow and St Petersburg who assured that they would send groups to JK for holidays especially for adventure and heritage tourism,” he said.
The Department of Tourism has embarked on an aggressive marketing campaign within and outside India to attract travellers to the state.
