Baramulla: After four days of blockade, internet services have been restored in northern Kashmir’s Kupwara district, where massive protests broke out on Thursday last after a top Hizbul Mujahideen commander Mannan Wani and his associate were killed in a gunfight by government forces.

2G, 3G and 4G services were restored in the frontier district today by all major cellular companies, including the state-run BSNL after four days of continuous suspension, locals told Kashmir Reader.

The services were snapped on Thursday last after Mannan Wani and his associate’s set off violent protests leaving over thirty people, including an ASP, two SHOs and several policemen injured.
