Health department employees protest in Srinagar, demand implementation of 1992 recruitment rules

Srinagar: Multiple purpose health employees working in Jammu and Kashmir health department held a protest demonstration in Srinagar on Monday to press for their demands.

Under the banners of Multi Purpose Health Workers Association, the protesting employees demanding upgradation of their pay scale.

The protesting employees said that they are working in the health department for last 27 Years and were recruited through SSRB. “Since then we haven’t been promoted.”

The protesting employees appealed the government to upgrade their pay scale.

“We appeal the state government to promote us and upgrade our pay scale as per 1992 recruitment rules,” association President, Showket Ahmad said.

The protesters first assembled at Civil Secretariat and later marched to Press enclave in Srinagar.

The employees threatened to go on an indefinite strike if their demands are not fulfilled.
