Budgam: Suspected militants hurled a grenade at a patrolling party of army at Yarigund area of Narbal in Budgam district Friday night.
SSP Budgam, Tejinder Singh told Kashmir Reader that none one was injured in the attack on 2RR’s patrol party.
Local residents, however, told Kashmir Reader they saw some bloodstains at the spot in the morning.
Earlier in the night, they said, they first heard some gunshots at around 11 pm.
“We couldn’t judge and went to sleep, it was around 2 am in midnight when a big explosion woke up all the residents living around the spot,” a local said wishing not to be named.
He said that they heard army vehicles stopping on link road and army men talking to each other before they left.
However, in morning he said blood stains were visible on roads and on the trees leaves and trunk.
However, top police officials denied any information regarding any casualty or injuries in the incident and said that they had no knowledge of visibility of blood stains there.
