SHOPIAN: Despite orders from the government to relieve teachers deputed to government offices back to their schools, several teachers in the district are still working in offices, impacting the academics in schools.
Reliable sources in the Education department told Kashmir Reader that several ReT and migrant teachers were working in the offices of Chief Education Officer and Zonal Education Officer Shopian.
These include, Aashiq Hussain from Government Middle School Balpora, Vishal Bhat from Government High School Pahnoo, Ferooz Ahmad from Government school Shaldora and Rakesh Pandith from Boys Primary School Batpora.
An official from the department said the orders are violated by higher officials to deputed “their favorite ones as per their wishes”.
“By doing this the precious careers of poor students are getting affected,” he said.
A teacher talking to Kashmir Reader lamented that there was already dearth of teachers in schools and deputing teachers to offices further aggravated the problem.
Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Owais Ahmad said that no such issue had been brought into his notice.
“I will check it and appropriate action will be taken,” he said.
Chief Education Officer Shopian, Muhammad Sadiq Chichi couldn’t be reached despite repeated efforts.
