SRINAGAR: Kashmir PHE Joint Employees Association and Casual and Seasonal Laborers Association of Irrigation and Flood control Department on Wednesday held a joint protest demonstration here demanding release of their pending wages.
Scores of protesters from Public Health and Engineering (PHE) Department and Irrigation and Flood control (I&FC) Department assembled here in press enclave and shouting slogans against the government for not releasing their pending wages.
President of Kashmir PHE Joint Employees Association, Sajad Ahmad Parray said the wages of Daily wagers and ITI workers is pending from last 6 months and wages of Casual labours and Land Donors is pending from last 22 months in the PHE Department.
“We are demanding the release of our wages as soon as possible and implementation of SRO 520 in our favour,” he said
Inam Parray, one of the protesters from Irrigation and Flood control Department said their wages are pending in the department from last three years and appealed the Governor administration to release their wages.
“The services of Seasonal labours should be utilized and it is also mentioned in the SRO 520” Parray said.
He also said that “From last three years we are facing financial crisis. The government should think about the sufferings we and our families go throw every day.”
