Srinagar: The Jama’at-e-Islami Thursday expressed shock over the killing Hizb commander Manan Wani along with his associate.
The scholar turned-militant Mannan Wani was among the two militants killed in a gunfight on Thursday in north Kashmir’s Kupwara.
“The non-resolution of Kashmir issue is affecting millions of people living in Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement said, adding: “If New Delhi is sincere in stopping the human loss in this region, then it should come forward and start a meaningful dialogue with the government of Pakistan and the real representatives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and find a solution keeping in view the aspirations of the people.”
“The killing spree is going to yield no results,” it said, “and these tactics only add fuel to the fire which can engulf the whole south-Asian region in the future.”
