SRINAGAR: The Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) Tuesday said Health department is in dire need of overhaul, and the first and foremost change for the government would be to restore the administrative seniority.
“The pick and choose method adopted for selection of health administrators has taken heavy toll on various health initiatives and functioning of the department,” the statement said, adding: “The parachuting of junior medical officers into block medical officers, medical superintendents, chief medical officers and others has resulted in administrative incompetence, indiscipline and degradation of department”.
DAK also demanded that directors for health services Kashmir and Jammu must be appointed on priority.
