4 injured in bear attack in central Kashmir’s Budgam

Budgam: At least four people were injured on Tuesday after being attacked by a bear in a village in this central Kashmir district.

A bear appeared in Shunglipora village here this afternoon and attacked the locals who were out of their homes, police sources told Kashmir Reader. At least four people were injured in the surprise attack by the beast.

The injured identified as Manzoor Ahmad Sheikh, Abdul Rashid Khan, Ishfaq Ahmad Malik and Sajad Ahmad Malik were removed to public health centre Khag for treatment, they said.


BMO Khag, Dr Idrees told Kashmir Reader that two among the four injured have been referred to Srinagar hospital for advanced treatment.

“The condition of two other injured is stable,” he said.

Police sources said among the four, one has suffered serious injury on his face and body and his scalp was peeled off.
