ULB polls: South Kashmir’s Kokernag boycotts polls on JRL call

Srinagar: People in south Kashmir’s Kokernag have boycotted the local bodies’ elections by staying away from the polling booths.

In ward number 13 Hangalgund, seven votes were cast out of 904 till noon, official sources told Kashmir Reader. In Ward number 5, Wagay Mohalla, 76 people out of 276 eligible voters went to the polling booth to cast their votes.

However, in ward number 11 Wani Mohalla and ward number 9 Telipora, only one voter each turned up at the polling booths. Wani Mohalla has 218 voters and Telipora 264.
