ULB polls: Presiding officer suspended in north Kashmir’s Bandipora

Bandipora: The district magistrate on Monday suspended a presiding officer for violating polling rules in this north Kashmir district, where first phase of urban and local body polls began this morning.

The presiding officer was suspended for violating norms by allowing a woman to accompany a voter upto the voting compartment in polling station 20 at Kaloosa here this morning, Deputy Commissioner Bandipora, Shahid Choudhary told Kashmir Reader.

The presiding officer Muzaffar Ahmad Sheikh was replaced by the Polling officer 1 at the higher secondary school Kaloosa.
